Ellisa Edwards White

Ellisa (Lisa") Edwards White, 55, passed away in Durham, North Carolina on Monday, March 30, 2026. Born on March 25, 1971 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert and Mary Alice Edwards.

Lisa attended Pittsboro Elementary School, Horton Middle School, and Northwood High School in Chatham County. As a young girl, she loved spending time at her Aunt Hattie's. Lisa was the mother of four children— three boys, Joshua, Malik, and Justin, and a baby girl, Alisha. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and always held them close to her heart. Lisa lived most of her adult life in Wilmington, North Carolina, where she worked in housekeeping. She found the most joy in life in spending time with her children, but she also loved to cook - especially her potato salad - enjoy a good seafood meal, dress nicely, and dance. She was sweet, gentle, and lighthearted, liked to make others laugh, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a caring daughter, great sister, and loving mom. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will truly be missed.

Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Robert White; her son, Malik; her brother, Jason; and her niece, Teneka, and nephew, Chance. She leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Joshua, Justin, and Alisha; her grandchildren, Kyzen, Zola, and Yatsuki; her brothers and sisters, Wilbert, Donald, Kenneth (Stacy), Angela (Joshua), Amanda (Frederick), Kela, Ondrea, Tracy Antawn (Ashley), Rodrick, Nathaniel, Latisha and Nakeisha; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
